Who we are
Geneva Helping Hands was founded by Andrea Schmitz
Prior to working in relocation, Andrea enjoyed a successful career as a purchase and sales manager in both industry and trade.
Originally from Germany she has lived in Cambridge (UK), Dover( Delaware US), Geneva and Singapore. She is a mother of three and has gained first hand experience of the complexities of moving a family from one country to another. Andrea has been a member of the International Transferee's Geneva Committee which helps expatriates to settle in, easing the transition to Switzerland before moving to Singapore. Our on-spot contact in Asia.
Andrea has built up a team of experienced partners and consultants, who have all lived abroad themselves. They understand the emotional ups and downs of moving and enjoy the challenge of helping newcomers to settle into their new surroundings, understand the new country and its culture.
All members of the team have excellent knowledge of Geneva and Vaud. We use our strong network of contacts for the benefit of our clients.

Petra is German, studied Economics and Business Administration. She worked as managing director in the family business before she moved to the US for several years. Beside her job as trade show coordinator, she there gained first in experiences in the relocation business. With her Swiss husband and son she moved to Geneva in 2007. Since then, Petra became a specialist in relocation for the Lake Geneva area. She enjoys helping people to settle in this unique area, loves travelling and art.
Sophie is French and went to University in Lausanne. After working in investment banking in Geneva and Paris she set up an antique business in London. With her German husband they have 3 school age children and before settling in Nyon they spent 6 years in Munich. She has excellent knowledge of the Lake Leman area, providing newcomers with those all important insider tips. Sophie loves interior design and is a keen skier.
Anka is of German nationality with a master in Business Administration. She has worked as a management consultant and in consumer goods marketing. Having spent parts of her childhood in the US, she has worked in Germany, the UK, Belgium and Switzerland. Anka has three young children and is particularly familiar with the schooling sector. She enjoys gardening, cooking and dining.
Ruth has lived in Geneva since 2000 moving over from her home country of Germany. She studied French language and accounting in Geneva, her twin sons left school this year to start their studies in Germany. Ruth has organised guided tours in Geneva over the past 5 years. “I believe that I have the right education, experience and time to help in any situation moving to and out of Geneva. Geneva Helping Hands is the right team for me to follow my passion.”
